Windmill Maze has some really deep clay fractures that leave vertical pot holes nearly a foot tall. Obviously this can't be worked until we have some long rain. These shaded parts, of adobe, present a challenge for the winter, and similar situations are found in the lower Adobe section. Robert and I both encountered the new gates on some of these trails. And both of us snagged a foot peg going through. We agree that wider clearance for handlebars is a plus. But if you make any more "top-bar" gates, could you please make 'em a little wider at the bottom? Some of us ride bikes a little lower than others, and these gates get a little narrow down there. Cheers.

Thanks for the comments Blair.
We test rode the renz gates and yes it gets pretty narrow if you are on a low riding bike. I took our 140 through which rides pretty low and only had problems if I approch at an angle. We figure people will ding them a few times but then learn how to do it.
Windmill maze does have some tread issues but you are right. Not much we can do till it rains. We are also planning a re-route of the section with the 180 turn in the sand.

I'm thinking that will be the best option to prevent damage to the gates/bikes and to riders.
