I spent some time yesterday riding on the 125cc track on my trusty old KX100. The track could really use some shrub removal. Visibility on some of the sections are really bad. especially bad if you are taking an inside line.
The tower has a very large brush growing next to it that makes viewing a problem.
The temporary sign is gone.
I think it would be good to put up a new sign that says 150CC or smaller. There are several beginner mini bikes that fit into the 150cc category. Kawasaki and Suzuki make 4 stroke mini bikes that are 150cc.
Also I think it would be good to let larger bikes on the track just to follow and watch their new riders. I have noticed that this is already happening.

I'll look into it. I like the idea of changing the name to the 150 cc or smaller. The temp sign has just been a place holder until we can get a more permanent one made.
I'm going to check the brushing situation and from there let me maintenance crew know what to brush. Thanks for the post.

There is a grey area when you limit the CC's. A 125cc 2smoke is a full size bike that shouldn't be allowed. The sign needs to specify 150cc 4 strokes and 100cc 2 stroke or smaller. It's a lot of info for a little sign but the only other way would be to limit wheel size to 19in. front or no "full size" bikes. I do agree that a parent/instructor should be allowed to shadow another rider on a big bike.

seems like consensus is that wheel size will be the limit on the sign. Furthermore, I also like the idea of allowing parents to shadow their children, however it was agreed that parents wishing to shadow their kids will be able to watch only from the tower to keep everything standard. This could change in the future, but for the time being a wheel size limit will be in place.
Brushing will happen this afternoon to improve visibility from the tower and throughout the track.

I checked out the 125cc mini track yesterday. It is in good condition. I did notice that some riders have been cutting the course right after the tower. Maybe more hay bales would fix this problem.

The coyote brush is getting very high on the intermediate track. There has been a lot of brush removal from the vintage track that has made the track much safer. I think it is time to find a way to remove all the coyote brush from the intermediate track. I see the parents watching their kids ride from the tower. They can only see the riders for a small amount of the track. I think the parents should be able to see to the entire track from the tower.
