“Trail Density Reduction Restoration” Hollister Hills’ trail network is composed of trails that have many different dimensions. An ongoing goal of Hollister Hills’ Natural Resource management staff is to identify, inventory, and restore areas within the trail network that are not necessary parts of the trails themselves. Volunteers will be given the opportunity to significantly reduce the trail density within the park’s landscape by actively taking part in the process of sectioning off these identified areas and restoring them with native vegetation. All are welcome to join and assist Hollister Hills Natural Resource management staff May 7 (9am-12pm) for our ‘Trail Density Reduction Restoration Day’. Meet and sign-up at the HHORA Training Center at 9:00am. For more information please contact, Wes Gray at 831-636-2064 or email WesGray@parks.ca.gov

Has anyone seen the lengthy thread on South Bay Riders about plans for Adobe? Gracious sakes! It reveals some of the most hideous traits in human beings, specifically: pride, arrogance, anger, and an abundance of Macho S#%&. Amazing. And yet right here is their opportunity to stand at the trailhead and participate. I truly hope some of the self-styled expert and long-term riders show up for this deal. Their input is obviously needed.

You have to step into the shoes of a rider that's spent decades riding all the trails, gully's' hills, and off shoots that make up the no-name volunteer trail system of the Adobe area. Us as riders are so fed up with the green movement to remove OHV's completely, that when these fence's go up un-annouced, you are going to get very emotional response's. I'm now one step closer to selling off the bikes and throwing in the towel. This is what they want, they hold all the cards, and are winning the game. Wes, you will come off as the bad guy no matter how well you can explain the parks recent actions in erecting all the fence's. I am of the opinion that the State Park's fear of the environazi's is a huge sign of weekness. Something radical needs to change with how these terrorist's are dealt with so my son's can enjoy a future of dirt biking with they're sons. Gracious sakes! You expect people to jump up and volunteer to re-veggitate a sweet trail that they've been riding for years? I don't have any answer's, and I didn't want to get involved in the discussion. The bogus closure of CC is the main reason for the impact on the Lower Ranch with riders looking for more challenging terrain. I'll likely have more days in at CC than HH this year.
