We all have encountered the suicidal squirrels, right? But this is a new one. Hauling the mail up Rancho Road (it IS a rather high speed pathway), two very large birds flew accross the trail at head level, and only by ducking very low were they avoided.
Were these Turkey Vultures, perhaps? They were moving pretty fast. And so were the motorcycles. I can see the signage now, reading: Caution! Turkey Crossing. Gotta protect the indigenous fauna...........
